The importance of preserving the muscles during an eyelid lift was emphasized by Fagien (USA) and Dr. Haffner discovered it at the same time and later published it. With the techniques of Fagien and Haffner, the muscles under the skin are completely preserved and are used and modeled as an “autograft”, i.e. own material for filling and tightening, during the eyelid correction. dr Haffner´s technique  differs from Fagien's technique in that Dr. Haffner performs an additional muscle tightening.
