What is a FU - "Follicular Unit"?
The smallest, independent hair group that can be transplanted in a hair transplant. This sometimes consists of a single hair, sometimes of two, sometimes of three hairs, which grow together in a unit - like in a common capsule. So they are removed and planted – together – in one unit.
FUI = Follicular Unit Implantation = implantation of a hair root unit.
Why is the hair transplant FUI strip method not up to date?
The harver planting in the 21st century is basically done without scars on the back of the head. That is why the FUE method, in which all hair or hair units are removed individually, is the most advanced and the most gentle without scars. With the strip method, hair can only be taken from the back of the head once, then it's over, further removals disfigure - shorten - the back of the head, where a man and a woman also needs hair - and not a scar. In addition, both sides of the head are where the hair is thickest, which is why it is most likely to grow out completely after a hair transplant. The bloody and scarred strip method is fading into the background, especially in the era of hair transplants using hair robots. Because the robotic technique of hair transplantation is also carried out by removing hair individually from a robot. The human hand makes the hair removal just as much, but much more flexible, because hair removal from the FUE technique from beard, chest hair, body hair, temple hair is also possible, so the individual hair removal has much greater possibilities for hair removal than the strip method.
