How is the robotic hair transplant done?
First, there must be a fixed adjustment of the head and the robot. This means that the head must be firmly pressed and fastened to a base with the help of straps - anchored - so that the robotic hair transplant can take place, so that the needle from the hair robot drills into the scalp like a Singer sewing machine. With the slightest movement of the head, the needle of the hair robot misses the hair root and shoots in at a different angle than the angle of hair roots. This allows the extraction needle to pierce the follicular unit at an angle, damaging it instead of removing it healthy. Keep in mind that the hair on the back of the head grows differently than on the side parts of the head, the head would have to be reattached every time you want the hair robot to drill in a different spot. The hair robot can only "work" on an area of approx. 5×5 cm and drill into this area at a certain angle. The angle must match the angle of the hair root 100%, otherwise the hair root will not be drilled around but pierced. Then the head has to be reattached again and again when the next removal area is to be processed. The patient is not allowed to move during the entire procedure, the head is fixed with uncomfortable, pressing straps. With manual extraction, both the patient and the hair surgeon can move for 4-5 hours, which is absolutely necessary. Disadvantages of robotic hair transplant
We therefore see no advantages from robotic hair transplantation, only technical disadvantages, uncomfortable for the patient and 3-4 times more expensive than the better, more effective and much more flexible removal by hand. A robotic hair transplant would be helpful if there were hair robots that could remove the hair quickly and inexpensively without complicated adjustments and without the hassle of attaching the head and implant it immediately. Such hair robots have not yet been invented. Even if they could be technically developed, the unpleasant, annoying head attachment and the even higher costs for the patient would still result in results that are equivalent to or worse than with manual work.
