Thread lift

What is a thread lift?

A thread lift is a form of wrinkle treatment and tissue support that is becoming more common in cosmetic surgery. In contrast to a facelift, a thread lift does not require any cuts and can only give the face a tight overall appearance with the help of threads that are inserted into the skin. A tired, sagging face can be freshened up with a thread lift without cuts and scars, and eyebrows and cheeks can be lifted. The facial contours are remodeled and, in conjunction with a neck thread lift, a neck lift with smoothing of the skin is even achieved.

How does a thread lift work?

Thread lifting

The thread lift is performed on an outpatient basis. Due to the minimally invasive procedure, which does not require any incisions in the skin, the procedure can be carried out quickly and usually takes about an hour. Most work is done under local anesthesia. A twilight sleep is also possible on request. The threads are inserted in a direction designed against the gravitational forces, which then form a mesh with other threads - inserted transversely or perpendicularly to the muscle axis - and provide tissue support. The thread lift is performed using invisible needle pricks using a hollow needle through which the threads are placed in the correct level under the skin. The threads have barbs which, when placed correctly, snap into the connective tissue of the subcutaneous tissue / SMAS and thus fix the thread at a fixed point.

What thread lift methods are there?

Polydioxanone threads (PDO threads)

The polydioxanone threads are typical supportive threads made of polydioxanone (PDO) and stimulate collagen production. The threads resolve within 6 to 9 months. However, the smoother and firmer effect of the skin can be retained for up to 24 months after the threads have been removed. The PDO threads are popular because they are inserted into sterile needles and are easy to insert with a needle stick. Patients can be socially acceptable immediately after the PDO thread lift - needle. Of course, the PDO threads have the classic barbs, like the standard Aptos threads, only the PDO needle lift is easier to set with little pain.

PDO Carving COGS by Everline

The PDO Carving-Cogs threads differ from the conventional PDO threads by the new, strong design of the barbs. The barbs are strong, so facial areas can be lifted much more. In addition, the thicker hooks detach much later than the thinner, conventional ones. Thus the PDO carvings cogs last longer. The PDO carving cogs are patented and are offered exclusively in the HeumarktClinic.

The Silhouette Soft threads

The Silhoutette Soft threads have special cones that snap into the tissue very well, especially in the first few weeks. They then strengthen the connective tissue and stimulate collagen production. The tightening effect can also last up to 2 years. The principle is similar to that of the carvings cogs: the hooks should be stronger so that the thread lift lasts longer. The disadvantage is the high price of Silhouette threads from the USA.

Happy Lift Ancorage and Aptos Lift methods

Both procedures involve special PDO threads that have barbs. The foot-side half of the thread is inserted into the slack tissue with a fine hollow needle. The hanging tissue is straightened up with the thread engaged. The upright position is stabilized by anchoring it at the upper, head-side end of the thread. The upper end of the thread is then attached to tighter areas of the face, tendons and muscles. Everything is done without cutting, only with fine needles, with which the threads are inserted into the fabric. If the threads are attached to firmer parts of the head, more lifting can be achieved than with simple PDO threads that are not anchored, that only act as stabilization, support ("needle lift" - thread lift with PDO needles). Synergism is an essential element of the Happy Lift: the more threads you lay, the more stable the support and lifting effect you can achieve.

Thread facelift – thread sling lift

This thread lift is the suspension lift, loop lift, the Thread – Facelift, with the face properly erect and strongly headward anti-gravitational pull. For this purpose, about 3-4 times stronger threads are introduced into the tissue with a thin thread guide and firmly anchored in the muscles in the temple area. The special feature is that the threads have to be inserted deep into the facial tissue in the form of a loop without cutting, then threaded from the mouth wrap to the skull area and anchored there subdermally intramuscularly. About that of Dr. Haffner developed the double-loop method 2008 in Seoul and in the ECAAM, Anti-Aging World Congress of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine in Frankfurt – Mainz reports.
